I’ve been listening to a lot of Foreigner lately and wanted to check out some of their less popular albums to see if I could find a couple deep album cuts to get hooked on. While I like this album better than their 1994 effort, it’s not the best selection of songs. However, it is no where as bad as this reviewer makes it out to be.
We all long for the days when Kevin Dubrow was alive. We all long for more songs like “Metal Health,” “Cum On Feel the Noize,” and “Mama, Weer All Crazee Now.” That version of Quiet Riot no longer exists. What remains is drummer Frankie Banali, guitarist Alex Grossi (joined 2004), bassist Chuck Wright (joined 1985) and new vocalist Seaan Nicols ooops, I mean, James Durbin.
At his best, Jason Isbell has an almost magical ability to produce a song of such distinctive lyrical and musical brilliance that you feel that no-one else could have pulled off the feat. You’ll find many examples of that ability on The Nashville Sound.
In the best way, this album from Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie, with Mickfleetwood on drums and John McVie on bass, is just what you’d expect: It’s a latterday Fleetwood Mac album without Stevie Nicks.

When you think of Genesis, you think of the great music spawned by side projects or solo careers. If we were only allowed to play such music, one could jam all day long to Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins and Mike + The Mechanics tunes.
