About her latest effort here, Deborah had a lot of good material to work with, almost 100 years of it. Not only does she weave a story of Betty White’s life that flows perfectly like a Golden Book should flow, but the illustrations perfectly match every well crafted word. Margeaux Lucas, who has many picture books under her hat, has come though with a great mixture of realism and whimsical illustrations and the combination of text and pictures are perfect. Whether you have been a friend of Betty White since she starred in her own Betty White Show, or loved her from the Mary Tyler Moore show, or enjoyed her work on the Golden Girls or Hot in Cleveland, you most certainly love Betty White and you should pass her accomplishments on to a new generation.
If you’ve read My Golden Book about Betty White to your children or grandchildren, or to yourself, we’d love to know your thoughts on this, one of best in the Golden Books list of biographies.
