Your web series 2Fur1 is fun to watch, but there is a big change for season two. Can you tell our readers about those changes? And why are they being made?

The series still has the same premise where 2Fur1 is a comedy mockumentary where a film crew follows two best friends, a girl and her talking dog, to Hollywood California. The star struck girl can’t catch her big break while her dog seems to be making his mark. The dog lands every acting audition and pays their bills even though he wants nothing to do with the industry. Will their friendship stay strong or will the dog end up stealing the show?

With season two of 2Fur1 it has a huge change. There is a full cast and crew. In season one I filmed every episode by myself and was in it. I would set up the tripod and have Gizmo and I jump into the scene. Season one was more of a reality day in the life kind of show. I moved out to Hollywood for acting but was tired of waiting around for auditions, so I figured why not make a show happen for ourselves. With creating 2Fur1 I enjoyed the process so much and decided that season two needed to be written in script form. I wanted to keep that reality style feel so I went with a scripted Mockumentary show. I even got a Director of Photography, professional audio person, assistant director, assistant camera, associate producer, and production assistants. There are 12 episodes at 7-9 minutes long. We will be releasing in September of 2013 (http://www.2Fur1.com).

2Fur1 Cast and crew

You almost had yourself a Doritos commercial in the Super Bowl. How did you decide to try for that and will you make another for next year?

People seemed to really like the idea of the “Pocket Dial” (http://youtu.be/9FeBqpJyulg) Doritos commercial! Which was awesome because it was my first attempt at writing and directing a commercial! I created a short film called “Fake Pocket Dial” (http://youtu.be/17sSqOx_2So) and I sent it to my brother. He told me he thought the short was really funny and it reminded him of a Super Bowl commercial. The next day I saw an ad for the Doritos Super Bowl contest and figured it was a sign that I must create the “Fake Pocket Dial” short film premise into a commercial. To tell you the truth, I am not sure if I will be making another Doritos commercial this year. We are still filming 2Fur1 and I have a lot of post production to do along with contacting festivals, so I might just focus on season two this fall.

Doritos Fake Pocket Dial

Of all the shorts you’ve done, which was the most fun to make and which is the most popular among your fans?

Puppies and Tiaras poster-001My favorite by far would be season two of 2Fur1. I am enjoying the fact of having a team! Because every project I did before season two I ran the camera and the audio along with directing and being in the shorts. It was a lot of work to be focusing on that many important hats. I can’t say season two of 2Fur1 is the most popular since it won’t be premiered until end of August. So far I’ve been blessed that every short I created has gotten some attention. The first short film was “Puppies and Tiaras” (http://youtu.be/mdPZIiiA73U) which was shown on Animal Planet. The second short film “Fake Pocket Dial” (http://youtu.be/17sSqOx_2So) and season one of “2Fur1” (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAF796183116FDF17) was picked up on a show called “The Bongo Boy Rock n’ Roll TV Show” which aired on local NY cable stations and Comcast. And then the Dorito’s commercial “Pocket Dial” (http://youtu.be/9FeBqpJyulg) is just about at 100,000 views on YouTube! My most popular YouTube video would be a review comparison I did on the new Macbook Pro Retina Display (http://youtu.be/vD6SCvt3Eiw).

What a fantastic interview, Mr. Humek! Jahnna is so talented (and Gizmo too!)– I’ve been following her since she left our little hometown area and am very proud to know she is finally getting the attention she has earned and deserves. Go Jahnna!
